Before running "make install" you need to create the target directories:

• $ cd /usr/local
• $ sudo tar -xzpf usrLocalSdr.tgz

Create a working directory, unpack the soure and build:

• $ mkdir [workingDir]
• $ cd [workingDir]
• $ tar xzpf dfcSDR.tgz
• $ cd trunk
• $ make
• $ make install

Note: if placing Athena into a directory manually you need to:

• $ sudo cp athena [targetDir]
• $ cd [targetDir]
• $ sudo chown root:root athena
• sudo setcap cap_ipc_lock,cap_net_raw=+pe athena

After installing Athena you need to install a few configuration files in your home directory:

• $ cd ~/.config
• $ tar -xzpf dotconfigSdr.tgz
• $ cd ~/.local
• $ tar -xzpf dotlocalShareApplications.tgz
